The assurance of our salvation .Biblical Deliverance Ministries Study one I suppose most of us if we were invited to go to war would back off smartly and decide we were made for the quiet life and so long as we have a reasonable level of comforts we can get along fine. Suppose that the conflicts we hear about in the news were happening on our doorstep or even within our homes would we run and hide or stand and defend ourselves and our families. What would we do if someone attacked our children or wife/husband? You had better believe it the warzone is all around us and the enemy is on the prowl seeking those whom he may devour and Ephesians 6 v 12 tells us very clearly that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Let's look at the foundation that Paul spoke of and in fact is the basis of all our faith and the source of all our authority and power. In 1 Corinth ch3 vs10 to15 what is the foundation Paul was talking about? _______________________________________________________ How did _______________________________________________________ express himself to us? ______________________________________________________ and why? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ What does it mean when it says that our work may be burnt up? ______________________________________________________ What is meant by (a) reward ______________________________________________________ (b) suffer loss ______________________________________________________ How do you understand the concept "he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ There are many Scriptures stating that we have everlasting life. The most popular one being John ch3 v16. What do you think is the meaning of the word everlasting (eternal)? ______________________________________________________ Do you think that God would backtrack on His promise? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ It could be understood that Hebrews ch6 vs4 to 6 tells us it is impossible for those who have become christians to be brought back to repentance. After considering the setting of these verses starting from v11 of ch5 what do you think this verse is saying? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ How would you compare the verses in Johns Gospel ch3 where Nicodemus pointed out the impossibility of being reborn because of the impossibility of becoming unborn with these verses in Hebrews. How could it be a practical application of this spiritual truth? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ Do you believe the seal of God through His Holy Spirit could in any way be broken or His guarantee fail? see 2Corinth ch1 v22 ______________________________________________________ Why? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
The Lord's words in Johns Gospel ch10 vs27 to 29 tell
us that He will never leave us and the Father will never leave us. Do you think that there
is any way that God could break his promise? Why do you think this ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
To understand some of these scriptures we are looking at, we should probably take a very quick scan through some of the periods of time shown in the Bible. In recent years the concept of dispensations (periods of time) has been substantially rejected and to a certain extent this is wise as any teaching may become distorted if all else is discarded. However to swing right away and ignore totally the concept is just as foolish. A balance is far more appropriate and more importantly the intent of scripture and the understanding of it within its application is essential. In the light of this last paragraph read Matthew ch24 and consider who our Lord was talking to? Consider verse 13 and 14 and how this teaching fits into this timeline? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________

Let's look at another angle. I suppose that if we ask the question 'what is the Kingdom of God?' we could come up with heaps of different answers. We are told several things which the Kingdom of God is like. There is not time or space here for us to go into a full study on this matter, suffice to say that the Kingdom of God is presently an action packed family working together to reach others for Christ and in Christ demonstrating His love, His power, His authority, in fact every thing that is Christ.
There are a couple of scriptures where those who commit certain sins will not enter the Kingdom of God. Gal ch5 v19. 1 Corinth ch6 v7-11 What do you think this means? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
Do you feel that there are areas in a Christian's life which would prevent him/her from becoming active or participating in the expansion of God's Kingdom?
Ephesians ch5 v5 clearly speaks of no inheritance in the Kingdom of God
Luke ch9 v62 clearly shows that no one who looks back is fit for the Kingdom of God.
To sum up. Gods salvation through Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection is Dependable - Sure - Complete - Uncompromised - Eternal - Everlasting.
When the Lord was punished in those three hours of darkness for your and my sin he set us free never to be condemned again for those sins we have committed to him. So instead of being harassed and tempted by satan and his underlings questioning our security and our motives for living as we do, we can uphold the work of Christ on the cross and in the name of Jesus Christ command them to be gone and take their fiery darts back to themselves. Let us live a life which is holy and acceptable unto Him out of a grateful heart. May our christian work and every thing we do be a sheer love response for what He went through as He expressed His love for us at Calvary
May the Lords holy Name be praised and may we bless Him in every thing we do
