Identification of good and evil

Biblical Deliverance Ministries

Seeing that we get attacked so often it is well for each of us to be able to identify between good and evil. Of course if we are close enough to the Lord, His spirit will prompt us in our spirits when we need to be aware. We can then aggressively deal with the problem. However there are some guidelines, which we can use to establish the origin of thoughts and invitations.

Let us first establish that there has never been war between God and satan. Only between the angels of God and the angels of satan.

Where as God is all powerful, (He is the one who was and is and is to come. He is the source of all things and all creation)

The Holy Spirit values our individuality. God has made us with a free will to choose

The Holy Spirit wants us to be in control of our own lives. He works in us to will to do the will of God. (Phil ch2 v13)

The Holy Spirit is gentle, holy and pure (Fruit of the Spirit). Yet there is power available to overcome sin

The Holy Spirit uplifts and glorifies Jesus Christ, bringing humility into the life of the person.

The one who lies (The opposer) is a limited created being with limited power. His knowledge is based on things that have happened and is unable to look into the future except to see what God has written or has said. He can only claim to see into the future by making a statement and then rushing of to try to make it happen

Demons try to take over a person’s mind and will and replace it with their own

Demons want to have total control of our mind and in so doing have control of our bodies

Demons are harsh and forceful always wanting to dominate the mind. They will invariably lead deeper and deeper into sin.

Demons hate Jesus. They glorify the person with whom they dwell. Pride is a hallmark of demons they are attached to.

The Holy Spirit encourages an active mind. Phil ch2 v13 "Take every thought captive to do God’s will."

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin. He leads gently, lovingly to repentance, forgiveness, redemption and peace.

The Holy Spirit will never contradict God’s word

We can control the Holy Spirit. He functions when and how he pleases. We are His servants. He is the master. 1 Cor ch12 v6-11 Heb ch2 v4

The Holy Spirit never goes against our free will. He withdraws within us. God doesn’t want robot.

The Holy Spirit loves and brings us into eternal life within the presence of God

Jesus loved us enough to die for us and shed His own blood, becoming the sacrifice, bearing the punishment for mankind’s sin so that man may go free.

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was once and for all.

The Holy Spirit gives a desire to read the Bible, teaching of the wonderful things of God.

The Holy Spirit helps us to understand the scriptures

The Holy Spirit draws us to pray.

When the Holy Spirit transports a person in the spirit He takes good care of the physical person

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. He never lies.

The Holy Spirit encourages us to actively learn.

The Holy Spirit encourages our active conscious co-operation with His will. Anytime we give up control of our mind we open the door for demons to come in and take over.

Demons like passivity (an easy victim) always encouraging relaxing techniques or drugs to dull the mind and allow easy entry.

Demons help the person justify his/her sin or they bring crushing guilt which says you cannot be forgiven so just give up.

Demons will twist and take God’s word out of context to justify sin

Demons let people think they are in control. They let people see more and more of the spirit world. They love rituals and routines. They perform counterfeit miracles on demand. 1 Cor ch12 v1

Demons are quick to take over and control. Always trying to usurp the person’s will. Demons love robots.

Demons deceive and lead people into eternal torment separated from God forever in Hell.

Demons never shed their own blood, but are always demanding that people shed blood for them. Always causing guilt and punishment or legalistic rules.

Demons always want more sacrifices either in blood or money or demands. They are never satisfied.

Demons try to keep people from reading the Bible and learning the good things of God

Demons bring confusion, they block a person from understanding the Bible

Demons hinder all true prayer.

Demons maintain life during astral travel by leaving a demon in the person. They don’t care for the person.

All demons are liars, and so are the people they indwell. John ch8 v44

Demons supply information beyond the capability of the person. When these spirits are driven out often the person will also lose this extra knowledge.

Demons will take charge and wrest control not allowing the person to have the free will God has given us.

Test the spirits to see whether they are of God or not.

1John ch4 v1

Dear friends do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognise the Spirit of God. Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus Christ is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard, is coming and even now is in the world.

1Thess ch5 v19

Do not put out the Spirits fire. Test everything. Hold onto what is good. Avoid every kind of evil
