PREPARATION FOR INTERCESSION !! Biblical Deliverance Ministries
We battle from Victory, for Victory To be effective intercessors we must be like watchmen on the walls I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till he establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 1. Firstly sign up for Gods army and recognize what God has called you to do. Tell the Lord that you are willing to be a watchman. 2. Keep your heart pure; Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand on His Holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. We must also search our heart for any sin, 1 John1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The Armour of God Ephesians 6:10-20 Key verse: Stand therefore, having girded your waist with the truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We need Gods protection as we go into warfare. 3. Come into Gods Holy Presence with high praises, thanksgiving and worship Exalt the Lord God, and worship at His holy Hill for the Lord our God is Holy. Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 4. Be still and know that He is God, seek God for His prospective, His heart, pray out of a motivation you know is Gods, praying from Gods word is extremely powerful, and totally in line with Gods word as this is clearly His will.5. Many times you will never say anything to the persons or group of people for whom you have prayed. God will speak to them in His time and His way. We need to be trustworthy for God to share with His plans and strategy, and we need to learn very quickly not to take upon ourselves the burdens God gives us for longer than God intends. We need to pray and intercede as God leads even if it does not make any sense to us, (For Gods ways are not our ways, and His thoughts not our thoughts). We are to remember we are only the vessels He chooses to use. We need to release these things to God for God to work His wonderful plans. Our only part is to pray and intercede and speak it, to proclaim His words, as if we are Gods mouthpiece through which He chooses to work After all God ways are far more effective than our ways. We can stand in the gap and repent for a whole nation, or a person. We serve an Almighty God.
The Birthing prayer ! Travail, a spiritual happening When using this term, the Holy Spirit uses a physical phenomenon, childbirth to describe a spiritual happening This is not actually a physical birth but a spiritual birth over which we have no control, this is a way of which spiritual power is released to give birth spiritually. It can outwardly manifest as groanings, weepings, without words. (Birthing prayer), God brings forth through us. Here are some scriptural examples of travail intercession. John 11:33,35,38,41-43 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her, also weeping. "He was deeply moved in the spirit, and was troubled. Jesus wept. Jesus therefore again being deeply moved within came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. And so they removed the stone. And Jesus raised his eyes, and said, Father, I thank Thee that Thou heardest Me. And I knew that Thou hearest Me always; but because of the people standing around I said it, that they may believe that Thou didst send Me. And He said these things, He cried out with a loud voice "Lazarus, come forth." We also have the example in the Garden of Gethsemane Matthew 26:36-39 Romans 8:26-27 "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself Intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." (The context of this passage is travail) Here the Lord speaks of the work He does through us. We can see that through this work of the Holy Spirit, through which He births life and new life and new creation. Galatians 4:19 "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you." Be encouraged if God has called you to intercede. Pray and ask God to show you more and teach you. Intercession is something that has to be given by and taught by God. Ask Him and He will lead you. He will equip you for all you need. This is a subject that is so vast these studies can only just slightly scrape the surface, we TRUST God will bless you as you serve him. May the will of the Almighty God be done in your and our lives as it is in heaven. back |
