JEHOVAHJIREH----JEHOVAH WILL SEE-----PROVIDE

JEHOVAHNISSI-----JEHOVAH MY BANNER (victory)

JEHOVAHSHALOM--JEHOVAH IS PEACE---JEHOVAH the GOD of PEACE

There are an infinite number of names of God and I could not attain to explain even a small number of them.

However, the name which God has shown us recently that we should dwell on at the moment is the name. JEHOVAH HE THAT IS. I AM. I WAS ----- I AM ------ I AM TO COME

Many of us accept the concept that God was in our history and will be in our future and of course this is absolutely right. He was and will be. However I believe that there is much more to it than that. Some of us believe that when God says that He is to come that is referring to His physical coming again to this earth. and of course He will be coming back to this earth in His time.

I believe that God is disappointed when man looks back especially when we bask in what we have done or make great plans for what we are going to do, setting goals and building our own towers up to heaven with our sights set on success for ourselves or our church. These sorts of towers God will push over and will only allow the towers that He builds to flourish. God has said that He will not give His glory to another. What God wants from man is to look at the present and listen for what God wants for us today. He will take care of tomorrow.

Simple obedience today is the key for the future

It is important for us to understand that God was before the beginning, before all creation and will be after all eternity Rev ch1 v8 "I Am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" and again in Rev ch16 v5 the angel in charge of the waters said "You who are and who were the holy one". Note how in both these references the words 'who is', or 'who are' come first. This indicates to me that there is something more than the past as we know it and the future as we think we know it. I believe that it is important that man concentrates on our relationship with God today and what we can do for Him today (now). The future is something which our God has in His mind and He will make it come to pass in His way and as He wants.

Here is a quote from a Book called Holiness by A A Hodge

The question is why should we love God?

And we love Him besides, for all that He is still doing. We feel that He is daily washing away our many shortcomings and infirmities, and pleading our soul’s cause before God. He is daily supplying all the needs of our soul, and providing us with an hourly provision of mercy and grace. He is daily leading us by His Spirit to a city of habitation, bearing with us when we are weak and ignorant, raising us up when we stumble and fall, protecting us against our many enemies, preparing an eternal home for us in heaven. Can you wonder that the true Christian loves Christ?   (A H Hodge. Holiness)

Hebrews ch6 v18 tells us that God cannot lie and He does not tell untruths. When our Holy God says something it is said for eternity and it will happen. And He will take care of our future. He has said so. However, if God says that Fred or Charlie or Jack or whoever will do this or that, then the one who does lie, the deceiver, will set about to do as much as possible to frustrate the plans and intents of God. So bringing the attacks of the evil one to that person. God in His infinite knowledge knows the end from the beginning and does not tell us the future. And so in like manner when we are loudly vocal about our plans for ourselves to do good we invite the attention of the evil one. It is no wonder that God has said that we should take no thought for tomorrow in Matthew ch6 v25-34 Some would say that this is about our provision and so it is but there is a deeper meaning in here v34 "sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof" (authorised version) Why would God say that if it only concerned our provision.

I believe that the words I WAS and I AM TO COME are really an expansion on the words I AM. It must be hard for the Holy God to use a man-made language to express His infinite being. When you consider the fact that time was made for man, and that God lives outside of time, we can begin to understand a little of what God is trying to say. We should consider the throne of God and the water of life, a sparkling stream, flowing freely from it ( Revelation ch22 v1). I believe that what God is saying is that He is that water of life flowing freely for us to drink yesterday, today and forever.

God has shown us a picture of Himself "I sit in the sky with a star in each hand. I am He who looks down and creates. What I see becomes and what I say is"

As awesome as this picture is, God is infinitely greater but chooses to speak of this to give us a small insight into His power and majesty and the fact that today He is

I AM what I AM what I AM what I AM what I AM

The Almighty God says:---

I AM what is to be and what will be, I AM your provider, I AM your provider, Shalom, I AM, ROUCH, Yes I AM HE, I AM HE who was and is to come, I AM what I AM, I AM the water, I AM the water around your tree, I bring life, for I AM life, I talk to you all the time, I AM always with you child, you can talk to me whenever you want to, I AM what I AM, I AM, I AM pleased, I AM very pleased, he grows stronger everyday, yes, I AM pleased, he will grow stronger still, he will grow stronger still, I speak truth, for I AM HE , for I AM the truth, I AM the God who heals, I AM the God of all things. Please speak of me, please speak of me as this name, the name I say to you, is Jehovah Shamar, that is the God of all things. It is my name, it is the name I like, for it is what I AM. I AM, AS I AM. I AM THE GOD OF ALL THINGS. JEHOVAH SHAMAR.
